I notice the set of Eagle rods I have don't have an oil hole in the big end. I've seen Crower and Scat photos and it looks like they also don't have a hole where the stock rods do. What does the hole do and how do the H beam rods get away without having it. I'm rebuilding the engine more for longevity than for power. Years ago I bought a racing clutch for a 327 and it had a steel clad aluminum pressure plate. It was designed to win races by saving weight and expected to make only a few runs before the steel wore through. Are these rods heavy duty for longevity or for winning races?
