So I've been assembling my stock TT motor using the guides here on tt.net, and attempted to put the heads on. The writeup on here uses studs, and so omitted the fact that the head bolts are not all the same length. And I didn't realize this when I was disassembling the motor. Tonight I was just pulling the bolts out of the bag and placing them in the motor. I managed to get the short bolt in one of the other holes. When I started torquing them down, the threads stripped. After disassembly, I found that the top 2 or so threads stripped, maybe 1/8" of a total thread length of 1 1/8", so I've lost maybe 15% or the total thread. The threads the rest of the way down are ok. I'm just wondering whether I'll be ok. I'm assuming if I can get it tightened to 90ft lbs I'll be ok. Thoughts? I'm just planning on a stock build.
