| Three days ago, the clutch on my '94 with less than 70k miles suddenly began engaging closer to the floor than normal. I drove it for about an hour total out to a friend's house and back with no problem. The next day I started it up to back out of the garage and can't even get the transmission out of neutral and in gear without the gears grinding. I'm a moderately competent amateur mechanic who would prefer to troubleshoot the problem and fix it if I can, but I haven't done very much work on this car and I don't know where to begin. Based on the number of forum posts on the topic of clutches, I see no practical way to search through the vast amount of information and determine the steps to take. If anyone can offer troubleshooting suggestions, or maybe point me to a post to get me started, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
