Message I believe that the warranty on my brother's car (a 2009 Acura TSX) is void if a heavy weight oil is used. The recommended weight is around 0w-20.

If you have a newer car that you DD, just following the manual for oil weights. Sure, our manuals are out of date however I'm inclined to believe a manual from 2009 or 2010. Oil hasn't improved that dramatically since then.

I'm not going to mess around with oil weights esp. when I don't know the engine clearances for a car.
