Message	turned out to be the oem ptu connector. One of the terminals was dodgy...... replaced it with a new connector and problem was solved. People don't realise that connector terminals don't last forever !!!! "If you own a 300zx, you don't have time for a hobby" "If you own more than one 300zx, you don't have time for a life"
