Ground loops can form if you add grounding points (not saying it WILL happen). My system uses 2x 225 watt RMS amplifiers: I ran a 0/1 gauge ground from my alternator to my battery. 0/1 gauge ground from the stock transmission ground point to battery, and 2 0/1 gauge grounds from the battery to chassis. No issues with ground loops. Extra 0/1 gauge positive from my alternator to + on battery (through fuse) and 0/1 gauge positives to each amplifier through separate fuses For a much larger amplifier, I'd definitely go with true 0 gauge cables. Do you hear any static or noise when playing music?
