Just to add on to that. The power the engine puts out depends on how the control is set at peak load. Theoretically you could retune the engine at a balanced lower compression ratio and regain the power losses associated with the lower compression ratio but fuel consumption will suffer. Plus the additional blow-by starts challenging the PCV system and the inefficiency causes overall engine temps start going up.
If the cylinder CRs aren't balanced that's a whole nother story because the control has no way of knowing or accommodating this... then power comes down and the mismatch significantly increases engine safety risks.
Generally if you don't retune the engine and you loose CR you'll loose power because MEP is down but I don't know by how much.
