JWT 500's are very aggressive cams and should benefit from the revised BDE VTC sprockets. You're also going to want the adjustability offered by the BDEs since you should be degreeing your cams. If you've already built your engine you can see if you run into VTC noise with the stock cams. Otherwise, I'd just purchased the improved BDE cams for adjustability and noise reduction. I haven't heard definitive evidence on whether you can reuse lifters either way. I would purchase some new ITM lifters for $250 and call it a day though. When considering all of these potential issues, ask yourself this... "Is it worth foregoing this part and risk having to pull my cams/timing belt again?"
