Leaving the relay in place, I was able to crank the car using this method. This rules out the relay 100%. If I had tapped into the B/W wire, that would have bypassed the relay. I then found the connection where the B/Y wire meets the ALT/Trans harness behind the passenger headlight, and tapped into the connection there (bypassing the trans harness portion of the wiring), and was able to crank from there as well. It was the smallest connector furthest inward to the engine bay. This tells me that the Trans harness is the portion with the problem, not the chassis harness. I have bypassed the trans harness for the time being and was able to start the car this way with no other issues. Problem solved. Hopefully this will help someone else in the future. Now my only issue is that my new engine has some incredibly noisy lifters. Time to dig into it one more time...
