This is in regards to my 1JZ-GTE I leak down tested today. Want to get your guy's opinions on the read outs. The motor hasn't been run since last March, I bought it probably 5 or 6 months after that. It's on a stand, no valve covers on it, no intake/exhaust manifolds on it so I can easily put my fingers up against the intake/exhaust ports to feel for air escaping. I realized after I did it all I forgot to feel for air coming from the dip stick hole in the oil pan since there are no valve covers on it for the PCV valve feel. The cylinders were all rotated to TDC when it was time to test that cylinder. I put my finger in the spark plug hole and listened for it to start whistling, then put a screwdriver down the hole to see when it reached TDC. 1-25% intake leak 2-60% intake leak 3-35% intake leak 4-35% intake leak 5-75% exhaust leak 6-22% exhaust leak I know mostly the numbers aren't too far above average for a boosted engine but holy cow 2 and 5 were crazy. Can you guys tell any from the readings whether it sounds like rings, sticky old valves or head gasket issues?
