have my brother rotate each wheel, and get back to you. It looks like the differential has more backlash than the half shafts though. A bit more than 1/8" at each differential output shaft when rotating the shafts separately. It sounds like you're on the same track though. I suspected that my automatic took up the slack in drive so much that I never noticed. Do you think a rebuilt half shaft will have less play? I could pick one up at O'Reilly's and compare. I'm planning to pull my sub-frame to have the bushings replaced anyway. I could have the machine shop swap the half shafts.
