Message play. I just don't know what amount of backlash and play are in a "good" half shaft. I've heard these half shafts are designed to have a certain amount of axial play, although I could be wrong.

Each outer joint has around 7-8mm of axial play. Very little radial play.

Each inner joint has some axial play but noticeable radial play. When rotating the inner joints, I can hear a faint knocking sound.

I'm wondering if all of my components could have a small amount of backlash that is adding up and causing a clunk?
