Message	localize the sound, get about a 3' length of garden hose and use it as a stethoscope. Start the car and have someone rev it to produce the sound. Put your hose (not your hose, but the garden hose) against the pan. The sound will be easy to localize if it's a knock. If it isn't knock, start working your way around the engine to pinpoint where it originates. Keep us updated. Mark
