I have a 1990 300zx auto that I swapped a 94 engine and auto trans into, the car drives wonderfully, but the shift lever has some quirks. If the car is in park and I depress the brake and then try to depress the lock button on the shift lever, to put it in drive or reverse, it doesn't budge (wont unlock). However, if I depress the button on the shifter all the way then put my foot on the brake I can shift it into other positions. My question being is that how its suppose to work? that seems backwards to me. I tried to do some research but did not come up with a whole lot of info.
