91 TT, JDM import, 56k confirmed original miles. Took my TT out for a little test drive, everything seemed perfect, despite some extremely minor smoke (I'm thinking it will dissipate after a few days use, as previous owner had flooded the engine/turbos/pcv with oil. No oil buildup since I cleaned it out and changed it, however). Anyway, on to my curious event. I turned the car off (was at operating temp), and washed the engine bay with a hose. I let it dry off, and turned car back on. My Z's idle instantly rocketed to 2000rpm, and smoke was pouring out the back at an alarming rate. I turned car off, checked engine bay for vacuum lines, connections, etc, and couldn't find anything wrong. Turned car back on after waiting 10 minutes, smoke had completely disappeared, and idle returned to normal. I took for her a nice test drive, turbos boosted to 10psi on the dot, and everything seemed fine. Ideas? Should I be alarmed? I'm currently on stock turbos, and have no idea whether they were changed in the past. Car runs perfect, otherwise.
