Message Any one try it in a VG30?

I've only used hard chrome on Cranks, when a new or replacement is not available.. Last car I did it on was a Model T, because STD Size Cranks ( used ) are hard to come by, and the Babit in the Block was already STD size.. I did not want to re-poor bearings.. I chromed the crank..

The Last "Machine" I hard Chromed was a 12 Cylinder 120Hp Freon Compressor.. I just cracked it open, because it ran out of oil, and the Oil Fail did not shut it off.. the Humans did because of the Noise..

The Hard Chrome Crank is PERFECT.. however the bearings were not..

My next thought was of ASH, and his escapades with Rod bearings..

Anyone Chromed a VG30 to see how the Crank lasts with a really hard surface?.. and High HP?

Cj
