It's not the clutch per se... It is the effect that an unsprung hub has on the transmission. Most transmission guys will tell you that it is not good to use solid hub clutches for daily driving because the lash wears the transmission much faster because there is nothing to absorb the shock of the gears when accelerating/decelerating in traffic. I drove mine with a solid hub puck clutch all last summer, and I hate it.
