| So I am in the process of cleaning all 24 lifters and found a couple caps that are damaged:
I imagine this damage came from the lifter housing slamming into the collapsed lifter body/cap? My question is, will this have also caused damage to the lifter housing? Or is the cap made of a softer metal and only the cap is damaged? Reason is, I plan on buying 4 new OEM lifters, however now that I have all of the lifters apart for cleaning, I do not know which lifter housing these caps came from. Just want to make sure I don't reassemble the possibly damaged housings and put them back in the head causing a real headache in the near future due to damage from the caps seen above.
