am currently in your position. Obviously you don't want to spin bearings and must find a good machine shop. I have my crank/rods/block at my local machine shop now. Labor wise they will inspect & polish crank, order correct size bearings, hone the rods where the wristpins connect, balance the crank/rods/bearings, hone the cylinders, install freeze plugs. You can have all the best parts in the world but if your mechanical tolerances are off...you're screwed. You will also need to have the machine shop inspect your heads. I had intake valves going up into the valve seat. All the rest you can do yourself and it is a fun experience. Like Sammy said, do what you can now otherwise you end up selling parts for half price. Just to be safe, you might want an SZ or EPR oil pan, Eagle rods, new pistons and all ARP hardware. Kyle at IPP say's he has never had a problem with Eagle rods and they are cheap.
