I presume your skill level is Low.. So I'll walk you through it. Go to the Autoparts Store and get: a) Spray Electronic Parts Cleaner b) Spray Brake Cleaner c) a Good Philips Screw Driver that Fits the Four Screws on the ECU Cover.. Bring the ECU with you to Check.1) Spray a LITTLE Brake Cleaner on the Four Screws that are holding the Tin Cover ( One side at a time ) 2) Place the ECU on a Bath Towel, on the Kitchen Table, and using the NEW Philips Screwdriver, push hard into the Screw and loosen it.. SOMETIMES the Philips Screws have 'Finger Nail Polish' on the threads as a thread locker.. the Brake Cleaner will loosen the 'Glue' to allow you to get the screw out. If the Screw gets tight.. spray a little more, and screw it back IN.. this will carry a little more solvent back into the threads to help loosen the threads.. Proceede with the In and out motion till the four screws are out.. Turn the ECU over and do the same on the other side. 3) Using the Electronics Parts Cleaner Spray, wash BOTH sides of the ECU board, and tin covers.. Try to get the 'Nozzle' to spray under the 'Big Chip with Legs'.. that is the PROM, and LIKELY you have water or Debris under it.. After it is all clean and Dry ( About 10 Min Air time ) put it all back together.. It should start and run fine.. DO NOT USE THE BRAKE CLEANER ON THE ECU BOARD.. it will melt away some of the Plastic Parts, and wash away the Varnish that protects the board.. Good Luck.. Cj
