| OK I finally decided to tackle the clutch & tranny swap. Everything was going well until I got to the Driveshaft. I've replaced the OE DS on my 93 TT with no trouble at all. This car has a 1 piece CF that was installed prior to my purchase. The bolts are off at the diff and I can pry the flange on either side when I rotate the DS but the damn thing won't slide into the tranny so I can pull the shaft out of the cupped flange at the Diff. I got it to move about 1/2" by prying it with a good sized screwdriver. The car is only on stands and the lack of space doesn't help. I did try putting a wood block against the yoke near the tranny and gave it a few good taps with a hammer. No Go …. I'm thinking that the spline may be twisted? Not many miles on the DS or any other part of the drivetrain for that matter. I was thinking or removing the retainer clips on the universal joint. Would it be possible to get it disconnected this way??? Figured if I could get the DS apart with the spline still in the tranny I can fight with it once I have the transmission out an more accessible. If anyone else has been in this spot and found a solution … I'm all ears.
