| I'm having problems with my idle hunting on my '91 TT, I've put in new injectors (555cc) a 300 degree kit, dual intake from selin and translator. Before all the mods she ran smooth as butter , old setup was stock.. I've gone through as much as I can the hints in the idle faqs. I don't have a compression tester or pressure monitor for fuel yet.. Here is what I have checked so far:
TPS, disconnected exhaust sensors to see if issue goes away, Regapped plugs and checked condition , verified 15 btdc timing and adjusted idle with the screw. Disconnected coil packs to verify idle changes for each pack. Verified most of the vacuum hoses. None of that seems to be the help reliably. One thing I've noticed always fixes the idle, is I disconnect the fuel damper and leave the port open on the balance tube. When I do that she is smooth... I am able to connect the hose back to the damper sometimes and it'll stay smooth, other times not so much. seems the extra air being sucked in the balance tube through the small tube to the fuel damper is enough to? smooth it out. I'm thinking maybe it's related to the selin translator or my mafs. Since the extra air coming in the balance tube is not measured and accounted for? Any other ideas given those symptoms would be greatly appreciated!
