Message	One of the two positions will block the flow and stop the heat. This assumes the valve is working, hasn't corroded and still stops coolant flow. FYI: I've never heard of them not working either. PS - Please post back which position blocks the flow? I'm thinking with the lever pointed away from the engine bay (but just a guess).
