Can you catch your fingernail on your groove? I would polish the end of the crankshaft with some crocus cloth. Also you can get a speedi-sleeve which slides onto the crankshaft end and will give you a new surface for the seal to mate with. Unfortunately with the rear main seal you don't have as much luxury with the cam seals as far as installing at a different depth. You can change it a little bit but not as much room due to the seal retainer plate. Pictures:
I have zero issues with seal leakage with the minor wear from an old seal I have in my crankshaft. Yours does look significantly worse. If you can see in the pictures, I had all of the factory oil plugs drilled out, cleaned and tapped for pipe plugs and the rotating assembly was polished and balanced.
