Message No one replaces crank bolts on a regular basis, but if you wanted to be 100% safe, obviously replace them. If you don't have new rods and caps, then I wouldn't spend the money on new bolts. The 1990 Nissan shop manual does not say anything regarding replacing them in the engine rebuilding section, neither does it mention them being torque to yield one time use, like head bolts.
