Message After reading several previous post it appears that my transmission input shaft bearing is worn and make the "whining" noise when in neutral and the noise goes away when the clutch pedal is pressed to the floor.

I understand that it doesn't hurt to drive the car in this condition which is a good thing as I don't have time or the parts to replace it before ZDayz. So I will drive it to the "Dragon" but would like to replace it as soon as possible upon my return.

A brief background on my car transmission: about 92,000 miles, new High 5 clutch and SZ segmented flywheel, Redline MT90 fluid, new slave cylinder, 350Z shift fork, Koyo TO bearing, SS clutch line, Z1 one piece driveshaft. On this engine rebuild I have about 1500 miles on the engine and clutch setup. Clutch setup and adjustment were verified by George at Custom Concept Performance so there is no question about the adjustment. I didn't particular like the high clutch engagement point of the pedal so I made adjustments where engagement was closer to the floor and drove it several days before the noise appeared. Thinking I might have made a mistake with my adjustment I returned it to the original position and everywhere in between but the noise remains.

For those that have replaced this bearing before:

1. How difficult of a job is it once the transmission is dropped?
2. Are any special tools required?
3. What other components are prone to wear or premature failure that I should inspect/replace while I have the transmission out?

Any information, procedures, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for looking! Sammy
