I searched a lot of posts to confirm it, but like most issues, people only post when the normal solution is not working for them. Not their success in solving the issue. When I tried the 1 mega ohm resistor for the knock sensor, it worked by twisting the ends of the resistor like a paperclip. This did not work for the EGR. I had to build a "jumper wire" with the resistor in the middle. I am only posting this so the next person doesn't need to waste as much time. EGR delete , resistor, bypass, 68k ohm
