| what you mean by "Correct bearing replacement selection is rather tricky and subject to error."? I would use ACL bearings and I'd be sure to use plastigauge to ensure each bearing is within tolerance and I'd be sure to use assembly lube on the crankshaft:bearing surface prior to torquing down for final assembly. I've actually heard sort of the opposite - our rod bearings are narrow in comparison to other V6 engines. This causes rod bearing failure somewhat commonly. Just to clarify, I have a VG30DETT; not VG30DE (more stress on engine components).
