Message I have the same issue, created a high pitched whistling that took a while to figure out. The good news is that good used TBs really aren't very expensive relative to other things on this car.

All air leaks will have some affect on performance as you are losing air, unmetered. In my system, I think that leak is relatively minor to other issues I had with my carbon cannister, etc.

My thought (could be wrong), is that larger TBs by themselves don't make sense if you don't have the rest of the supporting mods: dual intake, larger piping and larger ICs. Furthermore, if you're going for breather mods, Greg@SZ told me to first start at the exhaust and making it larger and more open, as this is the biggest bottleneck for the turbos.
