I currently have a sand rail with a VG30 NA motor in it putting 204hp to the wheels. Would like to go with a TT setup and am debating between buying a TT longblock with 40p heads, or just swapping the pistons and oil squirters in my engine and running it that way on a set of 30p heads. I already have a set of 555 injectors sitting here, and the exhaust/turbo setup will be custom because its a rear engine car so I have to flip the exhausts to exit the wrong way. I've also heard that the NA heads used weaker exhaust valves and that if I went with turbos I would have to swap valves out as well. So if the experts can chime in on which would be cheaper, which would be better, and which would be more reliable in the long run, I would appreciate some insite. *There's currently a tt long block in san diego CL advertised as "blown" leaning towards a headgasket, but can't confirm any other damage. Worth the risk or pass for 200 bucks?
