| to the driver side taillight (behind trim) that's part of the system to monitor bulbs that burn out, tripping the dash warning light. I'm not sure if this really is the issue? I'm more willing to think it might be the grounding connector for that 3rd light since that would a be a common connection for all the bulbs. Source of +12v to make them light is also a common connection worth double checking. Best thing to do is just work back thru the wiring harness checking connections, etc? Since the hatches moves up/down - could be mechanical stress over time that caused a wiring/connection issue? The low fuel circuit isn't tied to the brake lights - so not sure what's going on there?....
