| One more for the record books. My car was overboosting badly with my newly installed EBC. Issue:
- Car would overboost, EBC could not control the amount of boost the turbo's produced Symptoms:
- overboosting in all gears
- adjusting the EBC had no impact on boost The fix:
- re-plumb all the vacuum lines from the wastegate up to the EBC I was having trouble passing smog with the manual boost controller the previous owner installed so I finally got around to installing a hks evc-s to control the boost. I ripped out the manual boost controller and to save time, I tee'd the hks unit into the stock lines instead of doing a full re-plumb. Once I got it all hooked up, it overboosted like crazy, it didn't matter what I set the hks unit to do, it just ignored all input from the evc. I read that the there were restrictors in the factory vacuum lines closer to the wastegate itself and that was the only thing other than a bad evc that I could think of that would cause the issue. I spent the afternoon and replaced the factory lines with silicon lines to the wastegates and to the evc. Once re-plumbed, the car boosts properly and the evc is able to control it as expected
