Message	to pull the hatch trim panel and inspect. Give you a better idea on the issue - could be a simple fix (ie., clip came undone)? PS - If the cable really broke, might be easier to try and re-rig the release with an electrical solenoid (same kind used for door lock releases). Place a pusbutton switch under the dash or in the center armrest console...
