Message I have 2 300zx's and both are 1990's with hesitation, but I'm starting to work on the one I just bought a few weeks ago with only 24k original mile.

When I bought the Z it ran fine, I actually took it to Z1 Motorsports for a pre purchase inspection as the seller lives 20 minutes from them and everything was ok. Drove from carrolton ga to were I live, about 2 1/2 hours and the car ran perfect. Like 2 days later I started up the engine and let it warn a bit and when I started driving the car I felt the hesitation, turned if off for about 10 to 15 minutes and then it was fine it's been doing this for the past 2 weeks but sometimes if I start driving it goes away. The weird thing is that if I turn off the engine for 5 or 10 minutes and turn it on again is gone, this works most of the time but if I drive around and turn it off again and start it up again a few minutes later I have the hesitation again. I checked the codes and I have none.

I will start working with a few links I have found but was wondering if someone know what could be the problem before starting to attempt the whole thing.

By the way, the car has the original ptu, the guys from Z1 said they were impress how new the original ptu looks, it looks like it came right out of a new box, it is the aluminum face.

After I fix this I'll jump to my other z.

Thanks in advance for any help.

BTW, for those of u who read this thread I'm posting the different links I have found so far.
