| Installed timing belt and got the tensioner to extend to 3.5mm one shot. This tensioner is not brand new but has seen close to two years of daily driving. I rotated the crank clockwise a few turns and it was fine. Now I rotated it counter clockwise to get the marks to line back up just to triple check and count the teeth and the tensioner was fully depressed. Rotated clockwise again and it opend back up to 3.5mm. Went back counterclockwise and it remained fine. Pulled the timing covers off the next day to check it (gut feeling) and it was a hair under 2mm extended. Started the engine with the covers off and ran it for a sec. Checked it and it opened to 2.5mm. Ran it again and it remained at 2.5mm. Let it sit for 15minutes and it went down to 2mm. So should I just re-adjust it or get a new tensioner? Thanks
