Message Ok let's move on to the 'TTnet will tell you to replace it' part.

The camshaft grooves appear to be in the range of 0.004-0.007" deep (I work with CNC machines all day), the journals maybe 0.002-0.003" deep.

You can take it to a machine shop to have it fixed (which means you will be removing it anyway). It might be remotely possible for them to find a bearing in the required size, turn the camshaft down to remove the score and establish the proper clearance between it and the bearing, then they will open the head journal up to the OD of the journal bearing they spec'd and line bore/hone all journals. They will also have to machine retention tabs for the bearing and ensure the oil hole is aligned (which may take them cutting a groove in the journal to guide the oil).

After that, you now have a working head that you can use and hope their machine work is good. BTW it will be fairly difficult to find a shop that will know how to do this.

Or you could buy a used head and be done with it.
