Subject	New longblock won't start

Message	Transferred everything on my motor to a new longblock, it cranks but it cranks like it's struggling and then on the 3rd or 4th crank the starter starts grinding. I crank again and it does it again. I was rotating the motor with timing belt installed before it went in and it was rotating just fine. I do have spark, and I do have fuel. The grinding starter is what really baffles me. Why would it do that, and then I turn key back one click and try starting it again and no grinding?
