I used 10W-30 Dino Oil for the break-in, and currently. I'm thinking the timing may have been set incorrectly. The marks are long gone from my belt. I spent way longer than I should have trying to get all 5 things lined up, and I was pretty aggravated by the end of it. I should have counted teeth, but I turned the crank partially in one direction, then the other, and then everything still looked correct. Who knows what all other work I did, to be honest, there's always a million things getting fixed. Like I said, the VTC gear itself was replaced. I replaced the fuel filter and the fuel lines in the engine bay with new fuel injection hose. I did the PCV valves around this time, I believe. I removed the drivers side throttle body, cleaned it, and adjusted it to fully close. Re-adjusted to make sure both TBs synced up. Replaced the TPS (and then later the O2s). After the O2s and TPS I pulled the battery for a few hours to reset the self-learning on the ECU. I later replaced a leaky accordion hose per a boost leak test. Put a new clamp on slightly leaking brake booster line. Still have a leak from the carbon canister, and one out the side seals on the DS TB. It will hold some pressure though, and I will tackle those as I get time. It wouldn't hold pressure when the accordion hose was leaking.
