I'm posting for an old friend who cannot speak English. His situation is both catastrophic and ridiculous because of successive errors and bad luck. The story began with a supposed failed injector, took his '91 autotrans euro Z to a supposed 300ZX expert mechanic to fix it, but she returned in a worse condition with very instable IDLE and engine stall when hot (he damaged and replaced a piston rod in the process, yeah lol). Then we concluded the engine might been in a too bad condition and it would be wiser to replace it entirely to save time.So the friend bought a supposed 1995 or 1996 engine for its very cheap price and made it replaced by another mechanic who returned the car one year later with body parts damaged… The engine doesn't start. I took a quick look at this car and there's my symptom list : – Engine starts have been tested without the air intakes' hoses but with the MAS electrically connected… (against my will) – This EFI harness has been installed. – All ignition coils work correctly. But I didn't tested the installed spark plugs, some may be crappy. (didn't have the tool) – We smell fresh fuel coming out the exhaust. Testing each injector has yet to be made. – I still don't know everything, like if the engine is really a '95 one, what was done on injectors, if the harness have VTC connections, VTC on the engine, hardware compatibility issues… Actually we know we have to make much more tests but before going further I want to be sure the installed '91 ECU can prevent this '95 engine to start. According to this post, it might be the case, but is it possible to disable temporarily or whatever, the AIV ? All suggestions are welcome… the situation looks hopeless
