After trying to determine the knock/ping noise I've noticed during cruising speed, light throttle, and revving to ~2500rpm; oil remains at approx. factory spec per service manual, going off of factory oil sender AND aftermarket mechanical oil pressure gauge, (mechanical gauge reads as low as 15psi when fully warm at idle). At 3k rpm, oil psi is +/- ~55psi. I pulled all the coilpacks one-by-one while holding the throttle cable to around 2k rpm. Pulling #6 eliminates the noise completely, when I reconnect it immediately reintroduces it. Assuming this points to rod bearing, is there ANY other conditions that would cause this issue in the same manner, and be isolated to a single cylinder when removing that cylinders combustion? Trying to determine severity and ability to at very least, drive the car any further with a degree of safety. Thanks for any input.
