| you don't want your HICAS anyway. That will take care of the "capped" off ps line problem. Then replace all your accessory belts and you should be in good shape. Your car overheated because when your belts came off the fan stopped turning so it quit drawing air into the radiator. This happened to my wife's car this summer when the crankshaft pulley bolt snapped off on an interstate drive to an amusement park with the family. Talk about terrible timing. First symptom was the power steering quit working but since the car was driving fine I almost ignored it figuring it was just the ps system and the kids were anxious to get to the park. :-) We drove that way for a couple miles and at the last second as we came upon an exit I decided I should stop at a gas station and give it a quick look. Glad I did, because when I opened the hood I could see the crank pulley and bolt sitting in the undercarriage and all the belts just hanging there! Power steering had quit working because the crank pulley that drives the belt was no longer attached. By this time I had noticed the temp had climbed too because the belt that turned the fan was no longer turning either. Long story short is I had to baby it at about 30mph for 7 miles, stopping every so often to let it cool to get it to the nearest shop I could find. Left it for them to fix while I loaded up the family in a rental car and continued our vacation. The shop had to order the bolt, so had to keep the rental car for a couple days, then make the 60 miles drive with the wife back to the shop when it was put back together to pick up the car. Car has run fine since, but it was an expensive trip to the amusement park!
