Take out the '1' bearing in the #2 Spot, and toss in a 3. That will bring you down to 0.0019. A '4' bearing will bring you down to 0.0016. Good Luck finding a 4, I understand they are rare. Your #3 Position, your Kinda Screwed.. I'd run TWO layers of Aluminum Foil behind the Shell Half in the 'Girdle' side of that bearing that should bring you to 0.0017/0.0018 range.. the Block Side has Oil Passages that get in the way of Shims.. The last Foil Shims I did ( On my '95 NA ) were about 0.00025/0.0003 thick.. that is about the same thickness as a bearing grade change.. the problem with shims is, if you only do it on one side, you are moving the Block Bearing Center off by 1/2 that amount.. I'd not recommend any more than 2 shims behind a shell.. the bearing gets distorted too much, and things can go bad.. So I'm thinking toss in all #3 grade bearings.. and ONE Aluminum Foil Shim behind the Girdle Side of the #3 Spot, and run a Plastigauge check to see where you are.. I can post Pictures of Proper Shim Install.. If there is such a thing.. Cj
