Message First off, the ECU doesn't use any detonation sensor feedback until the engine is up to operating temperature (75°C), so it will never actually pull timing on cold-starts. This hesitation is most likely due to the ECUs warm-up timing maps, which are disabled above 55°C. Check to see if the hesitation goes away as soon as the coolant temp hits 55.

The alternator whine could be due to a ground-loop in your headphone circuit - you might want to try a different location for the circuit ground.
