Had a problem with an old NA of mine. It started fine and drove seemingly normal until one day it stalled out. It wouldn't fire back up. I sat and waited, let it cool down, then BAM it started up. Come to find out I had a code for passenger o2 sensor (but it wasn't throwing a CEL). Once the sensor got very hot, it would prevent the car from running or starting, but when the sensor was cool/cold it would start and run fine. You didn't mention running codes, so do that first. Also run the heated o2 sensor test if you can get your Z to operating temp and have it running before it stalls. Also, change your engine temp sensor - $20 and easy to replace. Maybe your "spark diagnosis" is related, maybe it's not.
