Message	Leaking brake booster hose would be a hard pedal. A vacuum leak from the booster hose has the same symptoms as pressing the pedal multiple times with the engine off. You have no vacuum assist thus you would get a hard pedal because you would have to use more force. I'm pretty sure you had a faulty check valve. Did you change the valve along with the booster hoses?
