Message	and clean the throttle bodies. These cars can be "self diagnosed" using the ECU, under the passenger floor board. Run the diagnostic and see if you get any codes. Could be a number of things, like most "issues" when you own a Z. They are not your typical car. Have fun helping your son out, make sure he knows how to drive a RWD car!!!
