Message That is good the Block is out.. If you search the Forums, you will find about running a deburing tool all the way through the Water Passage to the back of the block.. gets rid of the casting flash in the center water galley to get better water circulation to the back cylinders..

Use " Permitex Non Hardning Avation Form a Gaskett" to seat in the Core Pluggs.. and make sure all the rust and paint is off the surface before you install them..

Rather than use Factory Searing sizes, I shim my bearings to get the clearances proper.. usually Stock like clevite are close on the loose side for an old ebgine.. I shim down with Aluminum Foil and then check with plasti-Gauge.. usually check twice.. then make an adjustment..

Each engine Builder has there own procedure for engine building.. but the best idea is the Build Book.. Keep notes of all you found and all you did to fix it.. and what clearances you ended up with.. if all goes well.. you never look at the book again.. but if someone asks.. you have it written down what you did.. (CYA)..

I can go on forever. but my next bit of advice is.. CHECK THE CAM TIMING.. mine was off 1/2 tooth on the Drivers Side, and One tooth on the Passenger side.. The one tooth off was a POC.. but the 1/2 tooth took some machine work ( exhaust side only.. intake is adjustable ) to get it 'Spot On'..

Checking the Cam Timing is a little bit tedious.. but you are that far into it.. go all the way.. and YES, Even for a Stocker.. I'm Stock NA, and love them..
