:my thought was: :If I make the bore to fit 87.25mm pistons, the crankcase journal's engraving (in my case: 2222) no longer matters.Your thought is incorrect. Your cylinder bore does not have any input into your bearing grade determination :Since the main bearing grade is determined by adding this journal number to the what's engraved on the crankshaft's counterweight, how am I going to determine the main bearing grade now? ? Why not add the journal number to what is engraved on the crank? :Also, do i have to grind the counterweight considering the new 87.25 mm piston would weigh different than the original? You need to have your machine shop balance the assembly. This isn't something you do with a dremel
