Message	coil packs. I never actually figured it out even after replacing two ecu's, but after a lot of diagnosis I think a coilpack's resistance was too small and letting too much current recirculate back into the ecu. I tested the signal voltage and one cylinder (funny though because it was never the cylinder with the bad coil pack) kept having flat voltage.
