Message restrictors, but Robo's is looking at aftermarket (for example: JWT) boost jets. The restrictors slow the pressure as it leaves the solenoid, so the solenoid sees a higher pressure. The boost jets slow the pressure as it approaches the solenoid, so the solenoid sees a lower pressure (and thus stays closed longer, producing higher boost). I think of it this way: the pressure the solenoid "feels" is a balance between the air approaching and the air leaving. I don't know about changing or omitting the stock restrictors to change boost, but I do know that if you leave them alone and install boost jets, you will see your boost go up to around 12 - 15 psi, depending on your setup. As I remember, JWT boost jets are around .035. I noticed Robo said he went as low as .024. After some mods, I made mine over .040, to keep the boost down around 13 psi. I suggest adding a piece of hose, to locate the boost jets within reach, to make changing them easier.
